Water: Deeply water young plants regularly while establishing. Established plants tolerate drought, but need consistent deep irrigation during flowering and fruit development. Let the upper few inches of soil dry between waterings; avoid prolonged drought followed by heavy watering.
Soil: Well-drained soil; tolerates sandy, loamy, and moderately alkaline Phoenix soils. Avoid waterlogged locations and keep mulch away from the trunk.
Mature size: Typically 8–12 feet tall and 6–10 feet wide; may grow larger if unpruned.
Bloom: Primarily spring through early summer, with occasional later flowers. Fruit generally ripens in late summer through fall.
