Light: Bright filtered light or gentle morning sun with afternoon shade. Protect from intense Phoenix summer sun and reflected heat.
Water: Let soil dry completely, then water thoroughly and allow excess water to drain. Reduce watering during winter and periods of heat-related slow growth; avoid frequent light watering and water trapped in the rosette.
Soil: Fast-draining cactus/succulent mix amended generously with pumice, perlite, or coarse mineral grit. Containers must have drainage holes.
Mature size: Approximately 6–8 inches tall and 6–10 inches wide per rosette; flower stalks may reach 12–18 inches.
Bloom: Typically flowers in spring through summer when mature and growing well; flowering does not kill the rosette.
Evergreen / deciduous: Evergreen; older lower leaves naturally dry and shed.
Growth rate: Slow to moderate during mild weather; often slows in extreme summer heat and winter cold.
