Light: Full sun; tolerates light shade, including afternoon shade in Phoenix.

Soil: Very well-drained sandy, gravelly, or rocky soil. Tolerates alkaline soil; avoid locations that retain water.

Mature size: Typically 4–6 feet tall and wide, excluding flower stalks that can reach 10–15 feet.

Bloom: Mature plants bloom intermittently in late spring or summer. Unlike many agaves, the plant survives flowering.

Evergreen / deciduous: Evergreen.

Growth rate: Slow.
