Light: Morning sun with afternoon shade in Phoenix; avoid intense reflected heat and harsh western exposures.
Water: Low to moderate water once established; water deeply, then allow soil to dry. Benefits from occasional supplemental summer watering in Phoenix; reduce watering sharply in winter.
Soil: Very well-drained sandy or gravelly soil. Use raised planting areas where native soil drains poorly and cactus/succulent mix in containers.
Mature size: Individual rosettes typically reach 2–3 feet tall and 3–4 feet wide; offsetting colonies spread wider.
