Psidium guajava 'Mexican Cream'
Light: Full sun to partial shade; morning sun with afternoon shade is ideal in Phoenix, especially for young plants.
Water: Water deeply and regularly during hot weather and fruit development, allowing the upper few inches of soil to dry between waterings. Reduce watering in winter; avoid standing water.
Soil: Well-drained soil enriched with compost; slightly acidic to neutral soil is preferred. Tolerates some alkalinity but may develop nutrient deficiencies in Phoenix soils.
Mature size: Typically 10–15 feet tall and 8–12 feet wide; may grow larger in favorable conditions. Can be maintained at 6–10 feet with pruning.
Bloom: Typically blooms in spring and early summer; additional flowering may occur during warm weather. Fruit generally ripens several months after flowering.
Evergreen / deciduous: Evergreen in frost-free conditions; may lose leaves after cold weather or drought.
Growth rate: Moderate to fast with adequate warmth, water and nutrients.
