Light: Full sun for best flowering; tolerates light afternoon shade in Phoenix.
Water: Low water once established. Water deeply, then allow soil to dry thoroughly; occasional supplemental summer irrigation improves appearance and flowering. Water more regularly during establishment.
Soil: Well-drained sandy, gravelly, or rocky soil; tolerates alkaline desert soils. Avoid persistently wet soil and poorly drained planting pockets.
Mature size: Approximately 2–3 feet tall and 3–4 feet wide, with flower stalks reaching about 4–5 feet.
Bloom: Primarily spring through summer, often continuing into fall in Phoenix; flowers repeatedly without the plant dying afterward.
