Light: Full sun; tolerates light afternoon shade, especially near hot west-facing walls.
Water: Low water once established; water deeply and allow soil to dry between irrigations. Water more regularly during establishment and occasionally during prolonged summer heat.
Soil: Very well-drained sandy, gravelly, or rocky soil; tolerates alkaline conditions. Avoid heavy, poorly drained soil.
Mature size: Approximately 2–3 feet tall and 3–4 feet wide.
Bloom: Flowers intermittently throughout much of the year in Phoenix, with strongest displays commonly in spring and fall.
Evergreen / deciduous: Evergreen; foliage may suffer damage during unusually hard freezes.
