Agave geminiflora
Light: Morning sun with afternoon shade is ideal in Phoenix; tolerates light shade. Avoid intense reflected heat and unprotected western exposures.
Water: Low water once established; water deeply but infrequently, allowing soil to dry between waterings. Occasional summer irrigation maintains appearance; reduce watering substantially in winter.
Soil: Very well-drained sandy or gravelly soil. Use raised planting areas where drainage is poor and a gritty cactus mix in containers.
Mature size: 2–3 feet tall and 3–4 feet wide, excluding the flower stalk.
Bloom: Blooms once at maturity, often after 10–20 years, depending on conditions. The flowering rosette dies afterward and does not reliably produce offsets.
Evergreen / deciduous: Evergreen.
Growth rate: Slow.
