Soil: Rich, well-drained soil with abundant organic matter; ideal pH is approximately 5.5–6.5. Phoenix’s alkaline soils often make amended raised beds or large containers more practical.
Mature size: Typically 3–6 feet tall, with a spreading colony 3–5 feet wide or more unless suckers are controlled.
