Water: Keep the root zone evenly moist but never waterlogged. Water thoroughly when the surface begins to dry; check containers daily during extreme heat. Reduce watering in winter.
Soil: Rich, acidic, well-drained soil with a pH of approximately 5.0–6.0. In Phoenix, a container filled with an acidic potting mix is usually easier to manage than alkaline native soil.
Mature size: Typically maintained around 4–6 feet tall and 3–4 feet wide as a patio tree; final size depends on cultivar, trunk height, container size, and pruning.
Bloom: Primarily late spring through early summer, with possible repeat flowering depending on cultivar and growing conditions. Extreme heat can reduce flowering.
