Mixed species (combination planting)
Light: Bright, indirect light indoors or sheltered outdoor shade. Protect typical tropical foliage mixes from Phoenix’s intense direct sun, especially afternoon exposure.
Water: For typical tropical mixes, water when the top inch of soil feels dry, then drain thoroughly. Check frequently during hot weather; adjust to the moisture needs of the included species.
Soil: Well-drained, moisture-retentive container potting mix with added perlite. Use a container with drainage holes.
Mature size: Depends on the included species and container size. Individual plants may eventually outgrow the arrangement and need separate pots.
Bloom: Species-dependent; generally grown for foliage, with flowering uncommon or secondary indoors.
Evergreen / deciduous: Typically evergreen tropical plants; most are frost-sensitive.
Growth rate: Variable by species; commonly slow to moderate indoors.
