Light: Full sun to light shade; some afternoon shade is beneficial in Phoenix locations exposed to intense reflected heat.
Water: Moderate water in Phoenix; irrigate deeply and let the upper soil dry between waterings. Water regularly during establishment and increase irrigation during extreme summer heat.
Soil: Well-drained soil; tolerates sandy and loamy soils. Strongly alkaline soil may cause iron chlorosis.
Mature size: Approximately 8–10 feet tall and 3–4 feet wide; size varies with irrigation and growing conditions.
Bloom: Primarily spring, with occasional repeat flowering through summer and fall when adequately watered.
Evergreen / deciduous: Evergreen.
Growth rate: Moderate to fast with adequate irrigation.
