Light: Full sun; at least 6–8 hours daily encourages dense growth and abundant flowering.
Water: Low water once established. Water deeply, then let soil dry thoroughly; occasional summer irrigation supports growth during prolonged drought. Water new plants more regularly while roots establish.
Soil: Very well-drained sandy, gravelly, or rocky soil; tolerates alkaline soil. Avoid poorly drained clay and heavily amended planting holes.
Mature size: Typically 3–5 feet tall and wide, depending on cultivar and growing conditions.
Bloom: Flowers in intermittent flushes from late spring through fall, often following summer rain and increased humidity.
Evergreen / deciduous: Evergreen in Phoenix; may thin or shed some foliage during cold weather or severe drought.
