Amphilophium buccinatorium
Light: Full sun to partial shade; in Phoenix, morning sun with afternoon shade is ideal, especially near heat-reflecting walls.
Water: Moderate water; irrigate deeply and let the upper few inches of soil dry between waterings. Water more frequently during establishment and extreme summer heat.
Soil: Well-drained soil enriched with compost. Tolerates several soil types but performs poorly in waterlogged soil.
Mature size: Typically 20–30 feet tall or long and 10–20 feet wide; can reach 40 feet or more with ample support and favorable conditions.
Bloom: Primarily spring through fall, with intermittent flowering during warm weather; extreme heat or frost may interrupt blooming.
Evergreen / deciduous: Evergreen in frost-free conditions; may lose foliage or experience stem dieback during Phoenix winter freezes.
Growth rate: Fast with sufficient warmth, water, and root space.
