Soil: Well-drained soil; tolerates sandy, rocky, and alkaline soils. Avoid persistently wet roots.
Mature size: Typically 20–40 feet long, spreading 10–20 feet or more with support and sufficient water.
Bloom: Late spring through fall, often heaviest in late summer and fall; flowering ends with frost.
