Mandevilla ×hybrida 'Sunvilla Giant Red'
Light: Morning sun with afternoon shade. Provide bright filtered light during extreme summer heat; avoid reflected heat and exposed west-facing walls.
Water: Water deeply when the top 1–2 inches of soil begin to dry. Check containers daily during summer heat, but never leave roots standing in water. Reduce watering in winter.
Soil: Rich, well-drained soil amended with organic matter. For containers, use a quality potting mix with added perlite or fine bark.
Mature size: Approximately 6–10 feet tall with climbing support and 2–3 feet wide; generally smaller when container-grown or regularly pruned.
Bloom: Repeated flowering from spring through fall in warm conditions. Bloom production may slow during extreme Phoenix heat or cool winter weather.
Evergreen / deciduous: Frost-tender evergreen; may lose leaves or suffer stem dieback during cold weather in Zone 9b.
Growth rate: Fast during warm weather with adequate moisture and nutrition.
