Care Instructions

Light: Full sun for best flowering; light afternoon shade is helpful near heat-reflecting walls in Phoenix.

Water: Low to moderate water once established; water deeply, then let the upper soil dry. Provide additional irrigation during extreme summer heat, especially in containers.

Soil: Well-drained soil; tolerates sandy, gravelly, and alkaline soils. Avoid soggy soil and excessive fertilizer.

Mature size: Typically 18–24 inches tall and 24–36 inches wide; may grow larger with a long, frost-free season.

Bloom: Blooms repeatedly from spring through fall, often into winter until frost; flowering may slow during extreme heat.

Evergreen / deciduous: Evergreen to semi-evergreen in mild winters; frost can cause leaf loss or kill stems back in Zone 9b.

Growth rate: Fast during warm weather.
