Care Instructions

Light: Full sun to partial shade; protect newly planted trees from reflected heat until established.

Water: Moderate to high water needs in Phoenix. Irrigate deeply across the root zone, allowing the upper few inches of soil to dry between waterings. Water more frequently during extreme summer heat and reduce watering in winter.

Soil: Well-drained soil; tolerates sandy, loamy, or clay soils if drainage is adequate. Avoid persistently saturated soil.

Mature size: Typically 30–50 feet tall and 35–60 feet wide when grown unpruned as a landscape tree; potentially larger in favorable, frost-free conditions.

Bloom: Inconspicuous flowers develop inside small fig-like structures, primarily during warm weather; there is no showy blooming season.

Evergreen / deciduous: Evergreen; may lose leaves after frost, drought, or other stress.

Growth rate: Fast with sufficient water and warm temperatures.
