Light: Bright, indirect light or filtered shade. Protect from direct Phoenix sun, especially afternoon exposure; tolerates lower indoor light with slower growth.
Water: Water thoroughly when the top 1–2 inches of soil dry, then let excess drain. Reduce watering in winter; avoid standing water and prolonged complete dryness.
Soil: Well-drained, moisture-retentive potting mix amended with perlite or fine bark. Use containers with drainage holes.
Mature size: Typically 4–8 feet tall and 2–3 feet wide in containers, depending on cultivar; can grow taller under ideal tropical conditions.
Bloom: Mature plants occasionally bloom, usually in winter or spring; flowering is uncommon indoors.
Evergreen / deciduous: Evergreen.
