Care Instructions

Light: Full sun; at least 6 hours of direct sunlight daily for best flowering. Tolerates reflected heat once established.

Water: Low to moderate water once established. Water deeply, then let the soil dry substantially before watering again. New plants and containers need more frequent watering, especially during Phoenix summers.

Soil: Well-drained soil; tolerates sandy and alkaline soils. Avoid soggy clay, standing water, and planting sites with poor drainage.

Mature size: Approximately 15–20 feet tall with support and 8–12 feet wide; size varies with frost exposure, training, and pruning.

Bloom: Repeated flushes from spring through fall, sometimes continuing into winter in frost-free locations. Blooming may slow during extreme summer heat.

Evergreen / deciduous: Evergreen in frost-free conditions; may become partially or fully deciduous during Phoenix cold spells or drought.

Growth rate: Fast in warm weather with adequate water.
