Aeonium arboreum 'Zwartkop'
Light: Morning sun with afternoon shade; protect from intense summer sun and reflected heat. Bright light promotes darker foliage.
Water: Water deeply when soil dries during active growth in fall through spring. Reduce watering substantially during summer dormancy; avoid keeping roots wet.
Soil: Very well-drained succulent mix amended with pumice or other coarse mineral material; containers must have drainage holes.
Mature size: 3–4 feet tall and 2–3 feet wide.
Bloom: Mature rosettes may bloom in late winter or spring. Each flowering rosette dies afterward, but nonflowering branches usually survive.
Evergreen / deciduous: Evergreen, but may shed many older leaves and tighten its rosettes during summer dormancy.
Growth rate: Moderate during cool weather; little or no growth during extreme summer heat.
