Light: Full sun; at least 6–8 hours daily promotes dense growth and abundant flowering.
Water: Low water once established. Water deeply, then allow soil to dry thoroughly; occasional summer irrigation helps during prolonged Phoenix heat and drought. Water new plants more regularly while roots establish.
Soil: Well-drained sandy, gravelly, or rocky soil. Tolerates alkaline soil; avoid persistently wet soil and heavily amended planting holes.
Mature size: Typically 5–8 feet tall and wide when left unpruned.
Bloom: Repeated flushes from late spring through fall, especially following monsoon humidity and rain.
Evergreen / deciduous: Evergreen to semi-evergreen; may shed some leaves during cold weather or severe drought.
Growth rate: Moderate; faster with supplemental irrigation, slower under very dry conditions.
