Care Instructions

Light: Full sun; at least 6 hours daily for best flowering. Acclimate nursery-grown plants gradually to intense summer exposure.

Water: Low water once established. Water deeply, then allow soil to dry between waterings; irrigate more frequently during establishment and extreme summer heat. Avoid persistently wet soil.

Soil: Well-drained sandy or gravelly soil; tolerates alkaline soil if drainage is good. Use a freely draining potting mix in containers.

Mature size: Approximately 15–25 feet tall and 10–20 feet wide with support; can be maintained smaller through pruning.

Bloom: Repeated flowering cycles from spring through fall, often strongest in spring and fall in Phoenix. Winter flowering is possible in frost-free locations.

Evergreen / deciduous: Evergreen in frost-free conditions; may become partially or fully deciduous during Phoenix cold spells or drought.

Growth rate: Fast in warm weather with adequate water.
